Hi there, Heather! Welcome to planDisney - we are so happy you're here! With your
Walt Disney World vacation just around the riverbend, it's important to have all of your payment details settled. You've got a friend in me, and I'll be happy to help you get all of your (Daisy) ducks in a row.
First and foremost, you can rest assured that you can use any valid credit card for a vacation package that includes lodging and theme park tickets, or a hotel-only reservation. While I'm a huge fan of my Disney Rewards Visa Card (soooo many great perks!), it is definitely not necessary to have one to visit Disney destinations.
The balance for a hotel reservation is due at the time of check-in, so you have some time if you need to update your payment method before then. In the
My Disney Experience app, start by clicking the three horizontal lines (the "hamburger" menu) in the lower right corner. Scroll down to the "Account" section, then click on "MyDisney Wallet". Next, select "Payment Method". You'll be able to see any saved credit cards and gift cards, and add or delete cards.
Heather, since you'll be staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel (an excellent choice!), you can charge purchases to your room during your stay with a MagicBand, Key to the World Card, or
MagicMobile pass. This can be set up during check-in, whether you do that in person or online. I personally love the convenience of using my phone for MagicMobile - with older kids, it works really well for everyone to use their own device, and we don't have to worry about losing a band or a card key.
I hope you have a wonderful time welcoming fall at The Most Magical Place on Earth! There's nothing quite like it. Be sure to spend some quality time sampling the many tasty treats and entertainment options that can be found at the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and take in the Halloween sights around the "World".
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney! Please
come back anytime if we can help with any other questions about your October trip or another Disney adventure.
See Ya Real Soon!
