Hi Terry,
Love that you are checking into height requirements for your son before your visit. This is a great way to avoid disappointment once you reach the park if there is something he isn't tall enough to ride.
You can find a list of the attractions with height requirements by visiting the
Traveling with Little Ones section on the Disney World Website. There you will find a PDF file on the right side of that page that lists attractions at all 4 of the theme park that have height requirements.
Here are the attractions that have height requirements greater than 46 inches:
- Tomorrowland Indy Speedway at Magic Kingdom - only 32" to ride but minimum 52" to ride alone
- Rock-n-Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney's Hollywood Studios - 48"
- Primeval Whirl at Disney's Animal Kingdom - 48"
You know your son better than anyone, but keep in mind that just because an attraction doesn't have a height requirement or a child meets the height requirement, doesn't mean that every child should ride it. Haunted Mansion is a great example of this - there is no height requirement but its dark and once you're on, there is no great way to get off of this 7 minute and 30 second ride. Space Mountain is another great example. It has a minimum height requirement of 44 inches but its a roller coaster in the dark (very dark) and there is no way off once the ride begins. The seating for this attraction is in separate seats which are in a line so it would be difficult for you to put your arms around him if he became frightened.
Let me know if you have any questions about any specific attractions - I'm super happy to assist you. Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
