Do the height requirements mean that a child cannot even ride with a parent unless they are that specific height?

    Hi Lisa!

That's correct. If a ride has a height requirement, that person must be a minimum of that height, even if they are with their parents. We'll take Mission:Space at Epcot as an example. That ride has a 44 inch height requirement (or a minimum height of 3 feet, 8 inches). Your child will have to be at least that tall to get on. But Disney does have Rider Swap on this ride, and a number of others. If another adult is with you, you can use the Rider Swap and get on the ride either by yourself, or if you have another child that does meet the height requirement. When you get off, you and that adult can swap, and the other adult can get on the ride again either alone or with the same child again.

My son at 4 is still really short (even for other 4 year olds), so he can't get on many of the height required rides yet. I just try to find a ride nearby that he can get on, while my wife and daughter (8 years old) get on the ride of choice :-)

Hope this helps. Have a magical day!
