Hiya, Nancy, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
What an exciting time, to be planning a
Disneyland Resort vacation for your grandchildren
this month! I’m happy to report that there are plenty of opportunities for fun for little ones at
Disney California Adventure Park. In fact, my three Mouseketeers, ages 3, 5, and 7, all prefer the attractions and entertainment at Disney California Adventure Park over Disneyland Park! To give you an idea, my youngest is about 38 inches tall.
I did a quick search on the Attractions page, and filtered my search by "Disney California Adventure Park" and "35 inches and up," and
here were the results. As you can see, there are plenty of fabulous options! If your granddaughter is 40 inches or taller, you will have even more attractions to choose from!
One of my children’s favorite things to do at Disney California Adventure Park is
Disney Junior Dance Party! It’s a great way to take a break from the warm California sun, and watch favorite Disney Junior Characters sing and dance on stage! Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Timon, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse all make appearances. If you prefer not to sit on the ground with the children, you can ask to sit on the benches against the walls instead.
Next, check out the Disney Animation Building, home to our favorites, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome. My 5-year-old daughter chatting with Anna and Elsa, and my 7-year-old son can’t get enough of Turtle Talk with Crush!
When it comes to attractions, my children love Cars Land! Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters are their favorites. But their absolute "must-do" attraction has to be
Toy Story Midway Mania! on Pixar Pier.
Jessie’s Critter Carousel recently opened next-door to it, too, so that’s always a fun stop for younger Mouseketeers as well.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is also set to open soon on the Pier, so keep an eye out for that, too!
A great spot to let the kids run free is
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. From rock climbing, to swinging on a giant tire swing, to traipsing across rope bridges, there’s a challenge for everyone!
And last but not least, your grandchildren (and you!) will love catching a performance of an all-new outdoor musical production called
“Tale of the Lion King,” which debuts this week.
I can’t wait for you and your grandchildren to experience the Happiest Place on Earth this summer!
See ya’ real soon,
Kristin
