Heather, I read in another one of your answers that one of your children has cystic fibrosis. How do you think a trip to WDW with a 5yo with CF would work out? My son also has Autism - so not sure if he will be swallowing his enzymes by then.

Hi, when my daughter with CF was 4 1/2 when we took her to Disney and she is also the same child that has Asperger's.  Which is a part of the Autism Spectrum.  Traveling with her we carried a copy of her medical files and a medical form supplied by her physician.  We did plan our days to go to the parks in the morning and air conditioning in the afternoon.  She had a very difficult time breathing by the afternoon as the humidity in the air  wore her out.  We would plan a movie in Downtown Disney or perhaps we would go see a show.  We avoided the Character Breakfasts because they were often crowded and loud.  She also did better with smaller meals throughout the day rather than huge meals.  She did have an abundance of medication that had to be kept cool as well.  We also put her in the stroller quite a bit to help her conserve energy.  She was little enough to fit in the stroller.  I also mapped out which attractions were indoors so we could plan accordingly.  It was a lot of work to maneuver but it was worth it.  We just had to be flexible in the schedule.  I would recommend purchasing the Hopper pass so that you can move between parks easily.  If you have other children as we did, we divided and conquered many times.  I hope you have a fabulous trip!!!
