Hello there, Graham. Thanks for making your way back to us at planDisney. We're so excited for your upcoming cruise, so let’s get your question answered and help you feel ready for every "best day ever" moment!
When looking at the list of
Prohibited and Restricted Items for
Disney Cruise Line, curling irons and flat irons are specifically listed as allowed hairstyling tools. However, heated hair curlers are not mentioned as an exception. If these are items you’d
really like to bring along, I recommend packing them in your carry-on bag and asking a Cast Member at check-in if they may be inspected before boarding. If approved, you’ll be able to use them during your cruise and can rest them on the small mats provided in each stateroom after use. If not, they will typically be held with other restricted items and returned to you at the end of your sailing.
While Disney Cruise Line does provide specific wattage guidelines for hair dryers, similar limits aren’t outlined for other styling tools, such as heated curlers. In general, smaller, lower-wattage devices may be more likely to be approved, but final decisions are always made before boarding with safety in mind for all Guests.
If you're not comfortable with the possibility of them not being allowed, I would look into alternative options for styling your hair. And remember, the
Senses Spa & Salon can help you look your best, so your hair can "gleam and glow" and let its power shine! You might even consider a massage, which I highly recommend. To me, nothing says vacation like a good, relaxing massage.
Graham, enjoy every part of your upcoming voyage. If you have any other questions,
please let me know!
Let down your hair,
Matt
