Hi Moms! I had my heart set on going to WDW the first week in October (little crowd +Halloween!!), the ToT 10 miler was scheduled for 9/29 which I want to do, but my concern is now the parks will be more crowded. How many people can register for the race?

Hi Katherine!  You are going at a great time!  Other than marathon weekend in January, the parks are hardly affected by races going on  (and even on marathon weekend, the crowd level is still relatively low).   The Tower of Terror 10-miler is still in the planning process, so the capacity for the race is not yet determined. The other half marathons usually have between 6,000 -12,000.  That sounds like a lot but the parks easily absorb any of the runners that actually choose to go to the parks.   I have been to the parks during the Princess Half Marathon and also the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon and can assure you that crowd levels were not adversely affected.  Actually, the Wine and Dine is normally the weekend of the new Tower of Terror race, so crowd level predictions for that week will remain the same.  Again, I was there this past year for that very weekend and it was very pleasant, and not in the least bit crowded.  Enjoy your trip!
