Hi Brenda, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Late January is a fantastic time for a Walt Disney World Vacation, and I’m so jealous because your dates fall during the
Epcot International Festival of the Arts, which is on my Walt Disney World bucket list!
Brenda, my fellow Moms Panelists and I are right there with you: we are so curious to see how the new date-based ticket pricing model will actually work, and which dates will be impacted. At this time, we just aren’t able to speculate, because it sounds like prices for some dates may go up, and prices for other dates may go down. The date-based model means that Guests will be able shop for the most cost-effective dates using the new interactive online calendar, which can be filtered to show lowest-priced dates. It’s up to you to decide how comfortable you are with waiting to buy tickets on the chance that prices for your particular dates could decrease, because there is also a chance that pricing for your date could increase. I wish I could give you a more definite answer, but we just can’t make those predictions, and it would not feel magical to steer you in the wrong direction!
I’m sending you some pixie-dusted good wishes as you purchase your tickets and move into the next stage of planning your vacation. Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you do your Disney dreaming and planning, and be sure to
check out the new online vacation planning tool on October 16. It sounds like it’s going to have some seriously helpful customizations and features.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
