I've heard that the Wilderness Explorer badges are a good multiday activity for little kids. We only plan for 1 day to spend in this park and have 2 teens determined to earn all their badges, is it conceivable for older kids to earn all the badges in 1 day

    Hi Halle,

The Wilderness Explorers activity at Disney's Animal Kingdom is so much fun!  We took part in this activity last month when we visited Walt Disney World.  My daughter had a great time consulting her Wilderness Explorers Guidebook and finding the stations to earn her badges as we spent some time at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

You should know that the Wilderness Explorers content is geared toward children who are a bit younger than teenagers; however, I think that the additional challenge of completing the badges in one day would make the activity appeal to teenagers.  Also, even though it was my daughter earning the badges, I learned a lot along the way!  We were at Disney's Animal Kingdom for a bit over half of a day.  In that time, she earned about a dozen badges.  There are approximately 30 badges to complete.  However, my daughter is younger, and we were stopping at Wilderness Explorer stations as they were convenient to us as we went from attraction to attraction.  I bet that two motivated teenagers could collect all of their Wilderness Explorer badges in one day.  There is a really nice entry about the Wilderness Explorers program on the Disney Parks Blog, if you would like more information.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Halle!  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
