I have heard that if you are using DVC that you can only purchase your tickets upon check-in in order for them to be linked to your Key Card. Is this correct or can I purchase them ahead of time online?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

When you are staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort, the easiest way to have your theme park tickets included on your Key to the World Card is to purchase them when you check in to your resort.

There may be some Walt Disney World theme park tickets can be added to a Disney Vacation Club Key to the World Card; however, there are also theme park tickets may not be able to be added to your Key to the World Card.  Therefore, I would not count on being able to do so.  If you already have theme park tickets and want them added to your Key to the World Card, I suggest that you take them with you to the lobby concierge at your resort and ask that they be added to determine if this is possible with your theme park tickets.

My family has had Walt Disney World annual passes for years, so we have always carried both our annual passes and our Key to the World Card with us when we visit Walt Disney World.  We just make sure that we have both cards in our wallets before we head to the theme parks.  One of the things that makes me smile in preparation for a Walt Disney World vacation is "trimming down my wallet."  I take out things like my library card, grocery store shopper card, card to collect stamps toward a free frozen yogurt at the local shop, and so on.  Then I have a thin wallet, ready for my Key to the World Card, my Annual Pass, and my Disney Vacation Club Member Card as I head to Walt Disney World!

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Jennifer.  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
