I heard that Typhoon Lagoon has a place where you can take surfing lessons and then surf in the wave pool, is that true, and if so how much does it cost and how do I go about making reservations? My family and I will be coming down in late July early Aug.

Shelley, if you want to learn to hang ten, then Typhoon Lagoon is the place to be.  Surf classes are offered there-in the heated wave pool-on varying days of the week depending upon the time of year you visit.  The experience lasts about 2.5 hours and class size is kept on the smaller side so as to ensure that everyone receives personal coaching.

Because pricing is always subject to change you'll want to call for information before your trip.  I can tell you that, currently, a surfing class at Typhoon Lagoon will cost you about $140.  Reservations can be made up to 90 days out by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.  Oh, and you should also know that participants must be at least 8 years old.

Have fun and cowabunga! - I had to say it :)
