Hi Karen! I hope I can clear this up for you!
1) Yes, if you shed any clothing during the race, the clothes will be donated to a charity. I usually wear an old sweatshirt that I can take off when I get hot. It is usually pretty chilly that early in the morning. When you take it off, just throw it to the side of the road and Disney will collect them all.
2) There is a Race Retreat package you can buy. It includes the use of a climate controlled tent before and after the race. There is food, drinks, tables, chairs, sofas, private bag check area, restrooms, characters, and post-race massages in the the tent. It is a GREAT option if you can afford it. I like to get there early to eat a little bit and relax before it's time to head to the starting area. After the race, there will be a hot food buffet available. It's the perfect spot to recover a bit before heading back to your resort.
To find out more information, go to the
Walt Disney World Marathon website, then click on "Event Overview" and then "Race Retreat".
There is also a bag check for all runners (even if you don't buy Race Retreat). You will be given a clear bag and a sticker with your bib number. You can check it in before the race and pick it up after by showing your bib with the same number. They are arranged in different groups alphabetically by last name, so that makes it easier to find.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
