Hi Aylin! Welcome to planDisney.
I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble making plans for your family's summer visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Planning your Disney vacation should feel like a dream, not a nightmare! Luckily, I've seen Fantasmic!, in which Mickey turns his nightmare into a fantastic dream, so let's see if we can conjure some of that same magic!
A
vacation package is a great way to bundle your theme park tickets and your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation. To
book online, you'll take a look at the different Walt Disney World Resort hotels that are available on your visit dates. When you click through to see the different pricing, the checkout screen will give you the option of adding theme park tickets to your stay. Select the ticket type (
Park Hopper or one park per day) and number of days, and then you can see the price of the room plus tickets, which is your vacation package. As you price hotel rooms, you'll see any
Special Offers that are available for your room type and days.
If that's a lot to do online, or if you want to be able to ask questions, I would recommend calling (407) 939-1936 and speaking with a friendly Cast Member in the Disney Reservations Center. That's how I booked my first several Disney World vacations because I wanted to be able to chat about resort amenities and features. You're right that hold times are longer than usual right now because so many Guests are planning their
Return to a World of Magic, so hang in there (I usually multitask while singing along with the hold music).
Another option is to look into using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. These travel agents can book your vacation at no cost to you. I have a travel agent I love and she has saved me so much time. Some will even make your dining reservations for you. My pal Diane shares
more information about selecting a travel agent in this answer.
Aylin, I know it can feel overwhelming, and it's hard to know where to start. Our
Panel Extras section is chock-full of tips from our panelists, from selecting your Disney Resorts Collection hotel to vacation planning tools to packing ideas. We've made
planning videos and are sharing our tips and experiences at the Disney Parks on
Instagram if you would like to follow along. The
Disney Parks Blog is another great planning resource, with updates on the latest health and safety procedures and fun features about snacks and experiences in the parks and resorts.
Maleficent might be trying to get in the way of your vacation planning, but the planDisney panelists are here to help. We are Guests just like you who have learned from lots of mistakes and frustration over the years, and it's our pleasure to answer your questions, so please come back and see us if you have further questions as you plan your vacation. I'm sending you lots of planning pixie dust!
