Hi there, Riley. Welcome to planDisney.
I'm so glad you stopped by with a question that many people are wondering about. I'm happy to offer some help. The last day to visit
Star Wars: Launch Bay will be September 24th. As a lifelong fan of Wedge Antilles, Mon Mothma, Max Rebo, Salacious Crumb, and Nien Nunb, I have grown up on Star Wars. My initial thought when I heard the news that Launch Bay was closing was that there must definitely be a disturbance in the Force. I have spent so many years creating core memories in this area with my son. I truly understand your concern.
That being said, when I read the new announcements about the
upcoming changes, I got pretty excited. When I first watched the short film "Once Upon A Studio" on Disney+, my Disney-loving heart skipped a beat. I love that this is the inspiration for the transformation of this area in Hollywood Studios.
Riley, to answer your question, at this time, we unfortunately have not received any announcements regarding the relocation of Star Wars characters. It's always fun to see Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, and even Grogu around Batuu, but I don't know if characters like Darth Vader will be added to this mix.
I suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements. When you visit, be sure to check your
My Disney Experience app. In the app, select the map icon. At the top of the page, scroll over to "Characters." Then, at the bottom right of the page, select "Show List." From there, you can choose the character you want to meet and view their appearance times and locations.
Riley, I do have some pretty amazing
Galaxy's Edge news! Beginning in May 2026, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will have new adventures leading to Bespin, Coruscant, and other locations. I'm adding the link
HERE for you to enjoy!
At planDisney, we are Guests just like you, and we love helping fellow Disney and Star Wars fans create the most magical vacations. Thanks for stopping by, and please feel free to visit us anytime!
Wishing you galactic adventures ahead!
