Hi there Catherine! Walt Disney World is the
IDEAL vacation to recommend for accommodating special needs travel!
Parents can actually relax and have fun, knowing that cast members
will help make
everyone's Disney experience a positive one!
Simply visit any Guest Services location inside one of the Disney theme parks to request a
Guest Assistance Card for your son. It is not required that you provide any medical documentation to the cast member regarding your child's abilities however, you will need to be able to explain the limitations that he has and what Disney can do to make his day as able-bodied and magical as possible. This card will be good for the duration of your stay. Additional information, including printable in-depth park guides, can be found at this link to the
Disney website.
Also, a couple of great
unofficial resources for your vacation planning include:
www.Mouse-Aid.com and the book by Passporter called "Open Mouse".
Thanks
for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and
feel free to send more questions my way in the days leading up to your
trip! May your Disney vacation be
practically perfect in every way!
