Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Karen!
As they say on Batuu, rising moons! I’m beyond excited to explore Black Spire Outpost when
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Walt Disney World Resort later this month, and your question about riding
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run after sunset has me imagining sunsets and dusky skies on Batuu. Swoon!
I won’t get a chance to fly “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” until later this month, but I checked in with some members of the Resistance who’ve done some resEARch on the attraction. As Han Solo would say, “It’s true…all of it.” Without any spoilers, when you fly the Millennium Falcon at night, the attraction will reflect the time of day – so, if it’s dark outside on Batuu, you’ll experience night when the Falcon flies through Batuu. I don’t think there’s an official “time” that the attraction switches from day to night, but the Falcon will accurately reflect the time of day. “Only the ancients know” the exact timing, but whether it’s bright suns or rising moons outside, you’ll experience an out-of-this world adventure on your flight!
Karen, as you count down the days to your time “on planet” on Batuu, check out
this fun article and video from the Disney Parks Blog, with more details about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. As we get ready for the official opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, watch the
Disney Parks Blog for more dispatches from Batuu, along with other great travel tips and stories from all around the Walt Disney World Resort.
May The Force Be With You,
