Hi Jaynee,
Welcome back! It's great to hear from you again and I'm super excited to share about some of the fantastic changes coming to the Disability Access Service (DAS) this fall! The wonderful
services for Guests with disabilities have always been such a blessing to my Autistic Mouseketeer and help him stay as comfortable and regulated as possible so that he LOVES our Disney adventures, too!
You are exactly right! You will be able to sign up for the Disability Access Service ahead of time! While this service isn't available quite yet, we know that it's coming sometime soon. You'll be able to video chat with a Cast Member to share your concerns about your son waiting in a traditional queue and enroll up to 30 days before your visit begins. And the coolest part? Once approved, you'll be able to select up to two experiences per day with the DAS Advance planning option. Those DAS Advance selections will need to be made at least two days prior to your trip, then you'll still be able to use DAS in the parks as you always have, one attraction at a time.
Since it has been more than 60 days since your son has used DAS, he'll need to re-enroll again for your upcoming visit. Details have not yet been released about how to register virtually ahead of time, but I'd encourage you to keep an eye on the newly updated
Disability Access Service page for all of the latest announcements and updates, or please feel free to stop by and see us again here at planDisney before your trip.
One last thing...along with the new
Disney Genie service, which will provide lots of wonderful help to build the perfect itinerary each day, you'll also be able to make your DAS plans right within the
My Disney Experience app. Easy peasy, huh? Of course, Cast Members will still be able to assist you in the parks just as they've always done, so it's really the best of both worlds...more planning capabilities ahead of time and through the app as well as the same commitment to making the parks a welcoming place for
all Guests with helpful guidance whenever necessary.
Thanks so much for bringing me your great question, Jaynee. I hope you and your son have a truly magical vacation next
spring!
Missy
