I've heard and read some comments suggesting maybe Epcot is not the greatest place for kids. We have four active boys ages 12,8,and twins,6. Will they have a good time there? I feel kind of sad thinking we'd visit DW without experiencing the Epcot center.

Our son (now 8) loves Epcot. He really took an interest in it at 6. He loves Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Club Cool, Innoventions East and West, Soarin’, Living with the Land, Journey Into Imagination (boys especially find humor in the smell test) and ImageWorks.

I think your boys are at a great age for Epcot. Which attractions they participate in will depend on their personal likes and ride tolerances but there is plenty of activities for everyone.

There are complimentary KidCot stations (crafts) throughout Future World and World Showcase. If your older kids don’t want to participate, your twins can stop at the KidCot Fun Stops while the older boys go on a thrill ride. Unless, of course, your twins don’t want to miss out on the ride.

In Future World, explore The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion. Your boys will have a “totally awesome” time at Turtle Talk with Crush. After exiting Test Track, the boys can sit in the GM vehicles on display. Or if you opt not to ride, enter via the store to participate in KidCot and/or sit in the vehicles.

Get autographs from characters and/or World Showcase Cast Members. You can purchase “passports” (or make your own) and have the Cast Members from different countries sign the books. World Showcase Cast Members can teach your children how to say their name in the country’s native language.

We made World Showcase interesting by going on a character adventure. Travel around the world and collect autographs. On our next trip we did the passport book. I still remember our son saying “yep, it’s an adventure, we’re going to Italy”!

There are many restaurants worth visiting at Epcot and you can also walk over to the Boardwalk resort. There you’ll find the ESPN club for sports fans. The finale to your Epcot evening should be watching Illuminations.
