Stephanie from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I heard that we might qualify for a discount because my child has a California IEP. We are also CA residents. Can you help?

Hi there, Stephanie! Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the magic here at planDisney. It looks like you are heading to the Happiest Place on Earth in just one week! Time to break out that countdown calendar and pack up the Minnie Ears!

While there are currently no discounts or special promotions running on theme park tickets for California Residents or children with an IEP, there are some services available that your child may qualify for to make that park day extra magical. I would recommend looking into the Disability Access Service (DAS). This service is provided for Guests that are unable to stand and wait for extended periods in traditional standby queues. You can pre-register via a live video chat online anytime between 2 - 30 days ahead of your arrival. During your chat, the Guest requesting DAS must be present, and you'll get to select two one-hour return windows for select attractions. These will function similarly to a Lightning Lane once you enter the parks. When it's time for your return window, you will head to the attraction and check in with a Cast Member who will direct you to a special entrance so you will not have to wait in line. In addition to the two advanced selections, once you are in the parks, you can make an additional selection for a return window within the Disneyland Mobile App. This is a rolling selection, so as soon as you check in to this particular return window, you can make another selection! If you have any questions regarding this service, feel free to reach out to the Cast Members in Disability Services at (407) 560-2547. They will be happy to help you!

With your trip just around the corner, I highly recommend purchasing your theme park tickets and making your theme park reservations as soon as you can. As part of the return to the magic following the pandemic, all Guests are required to have both a ticket and reservation to enter the parks. While the ticket is your admission, the reservation holds your spot in a particular park on a particular day and helps Mickey to know how many people to expect. The good news is that when you purchase your theme park tickets on the Disneyland Resort website, you will make a reservation as part of this process. When you get to the calendar to select your date, you will see reservation availability. I can see from the theme park reservation calendar that the weekend of November 12 - 13 is already looking tight with reservation availability. If your dates are not available, continue to check back! Reservations can be canceled and rescheduled, and Guests are always changing their plans! This calendar will update with these changes, so reservations can become available especially as you get closer to the date!

Stephanie, I sure hope this was helpful and that you are strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. next week! The holiday season kicks off this Friday, November 11th, so pack your holly jolly! If you have any more questions, please come back to see us here at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
