I’ve heard that we can pick up our park passes when we check into our resort and that we don’t have to wait until we get to the parks to do so. Is this true?

    Hello there, Ryan!

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here faster than our pal Chewie can make the jump into hyperspace. I’d be happy to give you a few tips on accessing your tickets and entering the parks before your vacation.

First, everyone in your travel party will need a My Disney Experience account. Once everyone has an account, you’ll want to make sure that your party is linked to your “Family & Friends List” so that everyone can access their own ticket and you can make plans together. You can add people to your list by selecting “Add a Guest” at the bottom of the website. Each member of your party will need to accept the invitation to link up so that you can start seeing each other plans.

Once everyone is linked up, I recommend that everyone checks that they can see their tickets in the My Disney Experience mobile app. You can find your ticket by selecting the three horizontal bars in the bottom right corner of the app and selecting “Tickets and Passes.” If your tickets don’t appear - Hakuna Matata, because you can manually add your tickets to your account by selecting the plus sign in the top right corner of the app.

Next, you can enter the theme parks as long as everyone has a ticket, a theme park reservation, and a mode of entry. Modes of entry include MagicBands, Disney MagicMobile service, or a physical ticket that you can pick up from any theme park ticket window. The MagicBands and Disney MagicMobile services are my favorites since you can set this up before you arrive without waiting at a ticket window. You can set up Disney MagicMobile service on your mobile device by selecting the three horizontal bars at the bottom right corner of the screen and selecting Disney MagicMobile. The page will give you instructions on how to create a Disney MagicMobile pass.

I hope these tips help you have a morning at the theme parks that is one with the force. I always like to play around with the My Disney Experience mobile app before my vacation to make sure I’m comfortable navigating the app.

May the magic be with you!
