I have heard of 2 offsite Disney outlet stores. Can you tell me how close to the parks they are? Are they worth going to? I will have my own car so transportation isn't a big deal.

    Hi Jackie!

My favorite official Disney outlet store is called Disney's Character Warehouse located in the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall.  (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=17)This is the closest Disney outlet store to Walt Disney World and is approximately 10 minutes from Downtown Disney.  You can find a ton of clothing for adults and children, lots of toys, some collectible merchandise, pins, purses and other miscellaneous merchandise.  What they carry there is mostly retired merchandise from the parks.  The prices are excellent!  I would say this is definitely worth the trip over there, but it can get very crowded, especially on the weekends.  I always try to get there when they first open to beat the crowds.

The second outlet store is on International Drive in the Orlando Premium Outlet International Drive mall.  (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=96)  With traffic, it's a good 30 minutes away.  I usually stick to the close one.  If you really want to head to that one, I'd stop at the Vineland mall location first and if you find yourself empty handed, venture further down the interstate.

    Happy shopping!
