I heard that MK does a flag lowering everyday. My husband and I are both Veterans and he is also a disabled Vet. I was really hoping to get him signed up, but I can't find any info on it. How should I go about this? Thank you!

    Hello Danielle,

First, please let me thank you and your husband for your service to our country!

To answer your question, yes! There is a flag retreat ceremony that takes place daily at the Magic Kingdom. Every day at 5 p.m., Cast Members and one special veteran participate in flag lowering right on Main Street U.S.A. The national anthem is played, and Pledge of Allegiance is said.

When you arrive at the Magic Kingdom, stop by Guest Services and inquire about the ceremony. I suggest going first thing in the morning because they only allow one veteran to volunteer each day. Veterans who participate in the flag retreat ceremony are presented with a few mementos to remember the occasion.

    Hope this helps!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
