    I’ve heard mixed answers from different Cast Members and guests on if Magic Keys can be upgraded (not renewed) over the phone or only at the booths. I’m from further away so hopefully it’s over the phone!

    Welcome to planDisney! I'm sorry you haven't been able to find a clear answer to your question. I'll do my best to help!

    I think the Magic Key Buying Guide has the information you're looking for. If you scroll down a bit you'll find the "Pass Upgrades" section which says that passes can only be upgraded at the Disneyland Resort ticket booth. I'm sorry, I know that isn't the answer you were looking for! I hope that you can still go the distance and get your pass upgraded.

    No matter what kind of Magic Key you have, there is a lot to enjoy at the parks this year! I love this post from the Disney Parks Blog that outlines the major events for 2024. Are you planning to snack your way through the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival? It just started and it's full of returning favorites (hello, Mickey macaroon with Snickers pieces) and new items to try! 

    I wish I had a magic carpet to help you get to the Disneyland Resort and upgrade your pass, Sheyanna! Even if that dream doesn't come true I hope you have a wonderful year as a Magic Key holder.
