    I heard that the Maelstrom ride at Epcot is too scary for little ones. I have a 5, 3, and 1 year old that will be going on Pirates and the Haunted Mansion (the older 2 watched them on youtube and are excited!). Is Maelstrom more intense than those rides?

    Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

    I have two boys, ages 12 and 7, and neither had a problem with the Malestrom at the Norway Pavilion when they were younger.  They both very much enjoyed the ride.  In fact, they both had a problem with the Haunted Mansion for many years.  The Haunted Mansion is really not a scary ride, but a lot of young children are scared just by the thought of going into a "haunted" place.
