Hi - I have heard a lot of rumours at this point, about Disney not allowing bags into the parks if they contain any kind of lock. I have an over the shoulder bag i use through the airport with a combination lock on the zips to secure - is this allowed?

Hi Gary, thanks for bringing another question to planDisney!

Currently, the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules do not list bags with locks as prohibited. When you enter the theme parks, you will go through a security checkpoint and your bag may need additional screening, which means you will need to open your bag to allow the Security Cast Member to complete a closer inspection. I carry a backpack on every visit to Walt Disney World and find that my umbrella or glasses cases are often the reason my bag needs extra screening. I would just make sure you can easily open the bag if asked.

I hope you can visit the water parks on your vacation, Gary! Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open this summer. And if you’re staying at a Disney Resort, Guests get free admission to a water park on their check-in day, so you’ll get to choose where to have fun in the sun. If you’d prefer to visit the water park during a special event with shorter wait times, special food offerings, and dance parties, Disney H2O Glow After Hours at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has a few dates that might line up with your vacation. You can call the Disney Experts to see if tickets are available for a date that works for you!

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World, Gary! If you have any more questions as you prepare for your visit, please come see us again at planDisney!
