Welcome to planDisney, Sarah. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to see that you'll be traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort in just a few weeks! That's super exciting. I'm sure you're eagerly counting down the days.
It sounds like you're planning a galactic adventure at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. My Young Padawan customized a lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop a few years ago, and he loved every force-filled moment of the experience! His reservation was late in the evening, so after we took advantage of some cool photo ops, we headed back to our Disney Resort hotel and didn't have to worry about carrying his lightsaber through
Disney's Hollywood Studios. I certainly understand not wanting to carry your new lightsaber through the park for the day. I can tell you that when my sons built droids at Droid Depot we
were able to take them to Oscar's Super Service to be stored for a nominal fee. It was super easy and convenient! When we were ready to head back to our hotel at the end of the day, we just stopped by Oscar's Super Service, showed them our receipt, and picked up our droids. If you find that this service is not available for your visit, not to fret. Your lightsaber will come with a padded carrying case making it easy to carry and well-protected. You can keep the lightsaber with you on many attractions, but for attractions that you can't, like Slinky Dog Dash, a Cast Member will gladly hold your lightsaber for you until you exit the ride.
Be sure to stop by the
Milk Stand while you're exploring Batuu for a refreshing glass of Blue or Green Milk. It makes for the perfect frozen treat on a hot day! I recommend trying both to discover which you prefer. (My family is decidedly on Team Blue!)
