I have heard that guests at Fort Wilderness decorate for Christmas. Will decorations be up early Dec? I would like to see all the decorations is it going to be quite a walk? I will have my mom with me and she tires out easy maybe I should rent a golf cart?

Hi Allie!  Yes indeed many guests decorate their campsites at Fort Wilderness for the holidays.  Since they do this on their own it is hard to determine the timing when they will start to go up.  Some guests are there for several weeks and they will be the first ones to decorate while others wait to arrive just a few weeks before Christmas.

The loops are spread out and big but you can walk to a few with some ease from the Pioneer Hall area of Fort Wilderness.  If you are staying in this area such as a campsite or the cabins then you have that option to rent a golf cart for your entire stay or part of your stay.  I suggest you reserve one ahead of time as they only have a limited amount.
