    I heard that the Grand Floridian Mousekeeter Club is closing Aug.1 forever? Is this true?

    Hi Kimberly!

    I'm afraid that the rumour you've heard is somewhat true indeed.
    Now, it took a fair bit of digging to find all of the answers, but between the WDW Operators, the Disney Dining Advance Reservation System (through whom child activity centers such as the Mouseketeer Club are reserved) and the wonderful 'Nik' right at the Grand Floridian's Mouseketeer Club, here's what I was able to determine for you:

    - Disney's Grand Floridian's Mouseketeer Club is indeed closing, permanently

    - The reason for the closure is that there is a need to expand Gasparilla Grill - it will be taking over the Mouseketeer Club space when its expansion begins, upon closure of the Children's Activity Center

    - The Club appears to be open through until and including August 12th, 2012, the date up until which reservations are currently being accepted in the Disney Dining system

    - the nearby and larger "Never Land Club" at the neighboring Polynesian Resort will remain open

    If you're looking for child care in the Magic Kingdom Resort area after August 12th Kimberly, I so strongly encourage you to check out the Never Land Club at Disney's Polynesian Resort. It was the absolute highlight of my children's many Walt Disney World visits. They were always upset when we'd arrive to pick them up because they loved it there SO much that they never wanted to leave! The facility is larger than the Mouseketeer Club, amazingly themed and just a short monorail jaunt away from the Grand Floridian! It's of course staffed by the same, amazing Cast Members and you're assured a Magical evening for both the children AND the adults!
