Just heard that now Genie+ does not let you schedule the next attraction right after you enter the one your are in, that you need to wait 1hr. Is that true?

Welcome to planDisney, Andrea. As our blue friend in the bottle says, you ain't never had a friend like me! So, let's talk about Disney's Genie+ Service and how it works for booking those Lightning Lanes.

I just returned from a Walt Disney World Resort visit and purchased Genie+ Service for my day at Magic Kingdom Park. During that visit, I could book my next Lightning Lane attraction as soon as I scanned into the current one.

Remember that several attractions have more than one scanning point in the Lightning Lane, so you will be able to book a new Lightning Lane once you've scanned into all of the checkpoints for that current attraction.

I chatted with a wish-granting Cast Member who said the procedure for booking Lightning Lanes has not changed, so you should be able to book your next one after scanning in or after two hours have passed, whichever comes first.

Before your next visit, you can watch how-to videos online for current details. And once you're inside the theme parks, look for the blue umbrellas if you have any issues using Genie+ Service. The Cast Members at these locations are experts at navigating Lightning Lanes!

Andrea, I hope I've eased your mind about using Genie+ Service on any upcoming visits. It's a whole new world when you can bypass the standby queues! Please stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
