Hi! I’ve heard there is trick-or-treating at Fort Wilderness on Halloween...do you have to be staying at the campground to participate, or can any guest staying on Disney property go over to trick-or-treat? Thanks!

    Boo to You, Desiree!

Halloween is a much beloved holiday at Walt Disney World Resort. Did you know that there are over 130 hand-carved pumpkins just on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park alone?

Trick-or-Treating at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is such a popular activity that Halloween night Campsite and Cabin reservations completely fill up the day they are released, which is 499 days, or almost a year-and-a-half, in advance! While guests are generally allowed to participate in most offerings at any Disney Resort Hotel, this activity is just for those actually staying at Fort Wilderness that night as the candy is supplied by the individual campers. However, you are more than welcome to visit to see the creative decorations that some use in the days leading up to Halloween.

Other resort hotels will offer complimentary spooky-themed fun on the 31st, like halloween-themed movies under the stars, arts and crafts, costume contests, and possibly light trick-or-treating in the lobby. You can call the Disney Resort Reservation number to inquire about the activities at your specific Disney Resort Hotel, or you'll receive a weekly resort activity sheet for your resort hotel upon check-in. That number is (407) 939-1936.

You might also find halloween fun around Disney's four theme parks and at Disney Springs. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for updates and info about other Boo news. And don't forget about Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

We'll See You Real Soon, Desiree!
