Hi, Becky! Or as they say on the planet Batuu, "Bright Suns!" Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Like you, I am eagerly awaiting the August 29, 2019 opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. I had the opportunity to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge when it opened at Disneyland Resort a few weeks ago. As a life-long Star Wars fan, I was completely blown away by the level of detail and the immersive storytelling in this new land. Having the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was truly a childhood dream come true.
Although Disneyland Resort utilized a reservation system for accessing Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge when it first opened, there has, so far, been no mention of any type of reservations for the opening at the
Walt Disney World Resort. I would recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog. If anything changes with regard to the opening procedures for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World, it will be announced on the Disney Parks Blog.
It was recently announced that Disney's Hollywood Studios will be offering
extra, Extra Magic Hours to help accommodate the large number of guests wishing to travel to a galaxy far, far away. Guests staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel will be able to take advantage of extra, Extra Magic Hours from September 1 to November 2, 2019, daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. During extra, Extra Magic Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios, guests will have access to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,
Toy Story Land, and select other attractions. Please keep in mind that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and its experiences will be subject to capacity restrictions.
I hope you enjoy living out your very own Star Wars adventure as you explore Black Spire Outpost. May the Force be with you!
