Hi! We have heard that Disneyland decorates for Christmas overnight. Is this true? We want to experience both holidays (halloween & christmas) at the end of this year. If that isn’t true when will the Christmas magic fully take over? Thank you

Hey there, Dillon. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for taking the time to stop by with your questions for us.

I can’t decide which holiday at the Disneyland Resort I prefer – Halloween or Christmas. I love the decorations of both, and more importantly, I enjoy the seasonal treats even more! As you know, magic happens all the time at the Happiest Place on Earth. And that includes transformation from one festivity to another. Historically, the magical makeover happens almost overnight, usually in early November. Definitely by mid-November, before Thanksgiving week, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park were decked out with merry holiday décor.

However, as you know, the pandemic has greatly altered park operations at the Disneyland Resort. Plans for Halloween has not been announced yet. Hopefully soon, we will hear announcements regarding fun Fall festivities, especially since the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar is currently opened through October 7, 2021 for booking already. I recommend staying tuned to Disneyland.com and Disney Parks Blog for the latest park news. Upcoming events pertaining to Halloween and Christmas will most likely be shared there.

If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again.

    Have a magical day,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
