Hi Beverly!
Lots of changes continue to take place at Walt Disney World to make vacations less stressful and more magical.
One of the latest changes does indeed involve the security procedures for the
Magic Kingdom Theme Park. For guests arriving by car they will then pass through security at the Transportation and Ticket Center before boarding the monorail or ferry. They will not have to go through security at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. For guests boarding the monorails at the three Magic Kingdom area resorts, Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian, they also will go through security at the monorail stations in the resorts. Guests arriving by bus will still go through security at the entrance to the park at this time.
The Magic Kingdom is the only park where these new procedures are in place but if it is successful and relieves congestion we might see something changing for the other parks in the future. Disney hopes they can monitor guests and what they are bringing in better when it is less congested. You can check the list of
Park Rules and Regulations before heading to any park.
Hope this clarifies the new security procedures at Disney.
