I have heard that Disney portions are HUGE! Well the question I have is, can we get the dinning plan for just my husband and I? We have a 5 yr old going with us, but he eats the same I do & normally we share a plate when we go out.

    Hi Molly,

In order to get the dinning plan everyone staying in your resort room has to get the plan also.  The meal portions at Disney are not any larger than a typical restaurant.  Also, if you go to any character buffets you will have to pay for your son even if he shares off your plate.  The cost of adding a 5 year old to the meal plan is nominal considering you get two meals and a snack per night.

If you are looking to saving money, eat at mostly counter services restaurants, and you want to be able to share meals easily, you may want to consider passing on the meal plan.
