Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Christine! I loved my stay at Shades of Green last year with my family. My brother, who is an active Coast Guard member, made all the military arrangements and it was a fabulous vacation.
If you are staying at
Shades of Green, you will want to know they have their own bus system. The pick up at the Shades of Green Resort once an hour (typically near the top of the hour) and then the parks at the bottom of the hour. Grab a bus schedule at the Front Desk when you check in, and cherish it. It will be your best buddy when you’re weary from riding Flight of Passage so many times. The
Monorail picks up at Disney’s Polynesian Village and Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It will begin running approximately 30 minutes before the Park opens and does not have a stop at Shades of Green. You’ll want to use Shades of Green’s personal bus system, or alternately take an UBER or your personal car to the TTC to catch the monorail. You can also board the extremely large, yet swift, watercraft that crosses Seven Seas Lagoon from the TTC to Magic Kingdom. Your last option is the plush and personalized Minnie Van Service, now serving Shades of Green. This polka-dotted van can drop you right at the touchpoints gate of
Magic Kingdom, saving you lots of travel time and getting you there in style. My kids loved the car seats and themed music playing all ride long.
If I can help you find your way to the Parks or another place on Walt Disney World Resort, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
