I have heard about child safety tattoos, and my kids know my cell phone number. What other ways can I make sure that my kids know what to do if they get lost? They are 8,8, and 5. Thanks

Hi Tonia, In addition to the preparations you mentioned above, I always let my kids know that they could talk to any one with a Cast Member name tag. Make sure you point out what the Disney name tags look like when you first arrive, so that the children will know what to look for. All cast members are trained to be able to assist lost children (or lost parents!). You might want to find the Baby Care Center at each park, which is not only where you can change diapers or feed younger babies, it's also where lost children are brought until their parents are located. It'll be good to both visit the Baby Care Center and point it out on a guide map in case they do get separated and need to make their way back there.

You can also pick a location special to your family to meet up in case you get separated. For example, let everyone know if they happen to get lost, meet up at the Partner's Statue or some other easy to find location in the park. (Just make sure you communicate whether you're meeting at your special location or Baby Care so there's no confusion.)

To prevent getting lost to begin with, lots of families will dress in the same style or color of shirts, in a bright or easily identifiable color or pattern. That way if you get separated in a crowd, you are easy to spot before you actually get lost.

I hope you never have to put any of these tips into action but if you do, having prepared kids and confidence in Disney cast members will hopefully ease any panic.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
