I have heard that the campsites at FW were really decorated nice for Christmas. We will be there 11-30 - 12-8. Is that too early or will it be decked out? Also if you do not stay at FW can you rent a golf cart and ride thru to see all the decorations? Thx

Hi Vickie! Fort Wilderness is our home during our stays now since we have a motor coach. We have participated in the great decorating of our site during the holidays and you will be amazed at how much some guests do.

Decorations will certainly go up right after Thanksgiving. It is hard to say how many sites will be decorated that early but I can guarantee there will be some. There are a few within walking distance of the Pioneer Hall area that are there every year. There is also a great rendition of the Magic Kingdom's Wishes show and he usually comes a couple of weeks before Christmas so not sure he would have this up and running as early as that but you never know. He has become so popular that some guests come just to see his display which is truly amazing.

During the holidays the Fort Wilderness golf carts are generally booked way in advance for their guests. Not only cabin guests but also camper guests use this great service to rent a cart during their stay. I suggest you take the internal buses and get off at the Trading Post stop near the Campfire Singalong location. You will find several great loops to walk through easily. You can also take a boat over from the Magic Kingdom or the Contemporary and Wilderness resorts and also walk from there. Holiday time is a special time in Fort Wilderness!
