Hi there, Bailey!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you stopped by with your question about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort. My two young boys have only recently really “gotten into” Star Wars, but man, oh man, it is now THE talk of the house. I, myself, have learned quite a bit of information that I did not know, and my husband is more than happy to take part in the constant chatter. They both got lightsabers for their birthdays a couple years ago, but now that they understand their purpose, they are constantly battling it out, usually just barely missing my lamps or breakables! They certainly can’t wait for their opportunity to participate in
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on our upcoming trip!
Walt Disney World Resort's official rules do not prohibit Guests from bringing their own lightsabers into the theme parks, and the Cast Member I spoke with did not see an issue with bringing in a metal hilted lightsaber as long as the blades are plastic. But, please note that since safety is a top priority at Walt Disney World Resort, some security guards may not let them in, ask a Guest to tape it up or ask that it be stowed away in a stroller or bag. If you would rather not risk it, my suggestion would be to leave it back home or at your hotel. You can always pick up a new one at
Tatooine Traders as a fun souvenir to bring home with you!
Please stop back by with any other planning questions you may have! And, May the Force be with you…
