Hi there, Kristine Michelle!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan! Congratulations on booking your FIRST Disney Cruise Line vacation! You are going to have just the best time and who knows, you may find yourself working your way up to Gold
Castaway Club membership level before you know it (that’s five completed cruises)!
Disney Cruise Line does offer
Onboard Airline Check-In Service for Guests disembarking in Port Canaveral or Miami at the end of a voyage. Currently, the following airlines are participating in this program: Delta Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue, United Airlines or Alaska Airlines (Port Canaveral) and Delta Airlines, American Airlines or United Airlines (Miami). In order to utilize this option, Guests must have also purchased Disney Cruise Line
ground transfers from the port to the airport in order to be eligible to use this service. Ground transfers can be purchased by contacting Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 at least three days prior to your voyage, so if you plan on utilizing this option, and have not yet added these to your reservation, make sure to do so!
If your airline is NOT part of this program, you have a couple of options when it comes to disembarkation morning. You can tag your luggage with a specific luggage tag (provided to you on your final day) and leave your luggage outside your stateroom the night before disembarkation. Your incredible stateroom host or hostess will ensure that it gets off the ship and then you will pick it up in the cruise terminal after disembarking the ship for that final time. Or, you can also choose to participate in “Express Walk-Off” in which Guests do not leave their luggage out the night before but are responsible for getting their luggage off the ship on their own. If you happen to have an earlier flight time, this is a good option because “Express Walk-Off” Guests will begin disembarking first; other Guests will wait until their luggage tag group is called to disembark.
Hopefully this helps explain your options on disembarkation day. That final morning is always bittersweet to me as we are always ready to get back home and to a regular routine, but never happy to leave the “Mickey Boat”! But we always ensure to
book another cruise while onboard to take advantage of the onboard future cruise booking specials! Stop by the Future Cruise Desk onboard to learn more about these great offers!
As you continue planning, please come back with all your questions! We are so excited to help make this a magical and memorable adventure for you and your family!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
