Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda!
I’m currently training for
runDisney’s 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon and I know I’ll be taking advantage of the many fantastic
jogging and running trails located throughout Walt Disney World Resort when I’m there later this year. I’m also definitely planning to run one or two of the fun runs found around the resorts – a magical morning run through a beautifully themed resort with a fun treat at the end? Sounds run-tastic to me!
More and more of these resort fun runs are popping up around the
Walt Disney World Resort hotels. They are considered recreation offerings, so details are found at each resort rather than online. Typically, there is a registration fee of around $15 (which is always subject to change), and the races are usually around 3K, with a fun treat connected to the resort’s theme at the end - for example, Mickey Beignets await runners finishing the Beignet Dash at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The best way to get information about these fun runs is by checking in with a Cast Member at your resort, though there is also unofficial information that you can find online (just remember that the details are subject to change). If you’d like to have more information before you arrive, I recommend calling your resort; the phone number can be found on each resort’s individual web page, on the right-hand side under the map and address.
Many of my fellow Moms Panelists have completed these runs with their families, and I’ve seen some great pictures and heard rave reviews. A few of the fun runs that are currently taking place around Walt Disney World Resort include:
All-Stars and Icons Fun Run at
Disney’s All-Star Movies ResortBeignet Dash at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
Derby Dash at
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & SpaRegatta Run at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
Seaside Sprint at
Disney’s BoardWalk InnSouthernmost Point 3K at
Disney’s Old Key West ResortSeasonal Fun Runs may also be available at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and I have heard about (and am SO hoping this is available on my next visit) a Pineapple Dash at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – with a Dole Whip at the end!
Remember that these offerings could change, and new runs could be added at other resorts, so be sure to ask about these runs when you arrive.
I hope this helps and that you’re able to add a fun run to all the
pixie-dusted fun that’s already in store for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
