    I heard you can ask for night vision goggles to see animals at AK resort. If we want to have the earliest possible dinner time at one of the resort's restaurants and still get to use the goggles after dinner, what reservation time? (we leave in two weeks)

    Hi Nicole!  I am so excited to hear you are planning to spend some time at Animal Kingdom Lodge on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.  Animal Kingdom Lodge is an attraction all its own and boasts incredible views of the resort's resident African wildlife in an authentic and inspiring atmosphere.

    On my last visit, night vision goggles were available from 9-11 pm at the Uzima Savanna overlook near the resort's main pool.  Cast Members are on hand to answer questions and help identify animals as you spot them.

    Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to some great restaurants, including one of my favorites, Jiko, The Cooking Place, a Disney Signature restaurant serving authentic, African-inspired cuisine with a distinctive flair.  I would estimate dinner at either Jiko, Boma, or Sanaa taking over an hour (longer at Jiko), so if you shoot for an advanced reservation somewhere in the ballpark of 7:30 you should be wrapping up just in time to head up to the Uzima Savanna overlook to take in the sights of Animal Kingdom Lodge's savanna in the dark... a totally unique and incredible experience.
