I've heard alot about super soap weekend. I've heard that the parks are CRAZY with people, the shows and parades are only soap stars, but the lines to rides are short. I don't know, is this a good time to take a family vacation to WDW or will we be disap

We have been to WDW during ABC Super Soap Weekend which occurs at Disney's Hollywood Studios. During the day, soap fans are out in numbers at this park. However these fans are indeed in line to get autographs and see the special parade and shows. Regular parades and shows still take place. It's easy to tour the park around the festivities. Although if you can, I would avoid this park until the evening when the fans have departed unless you are a soap fan.

I am a General Hospital fan so we chose to arrive the park on a Sunday just prior to the special parade. I did not stand in line for autographs but by stationing myself near the Backlot Express where the celebrities come and go through a Cast Member entrance/exit, I was able to get photos with a few of my favorite GH celebrities, including Tristan Rogers. Now, my son thought I was a bit weird all excited about having my pic taken with this soap star but my husband a closet GH watcher was also ecstatic for me.

While I watched the evening's soap star show, my husband and son zoomed through some of the rides including several rides on Star Tours.

As far as crowds overall it is VERY crowded at all the parks due to the Veteran's holiday weekend rather than the soap star fans. The parks were jam-packed all weekend, including the Animal Kingdom. But by Sunday night when we were in the Hollywood Studios, the crowds had left. Monday morning was delightfully empty at the parks!
