I've heard AK is big and hot. Out of Pangani Exploration Trail, Maharajah Jungle Treck, Discovery Island Trails, and The Oasis- which are a "must see" and which should we not skip. We'll be traveling with a 5 year old.

    Hi Lora!

Disney's Animal Kingdom is a very large park, but it is a wonderful place to explore, with lots of shade and walking around the park is very manageable.  I always try and visit as early in the day as possible, to make the best of the cooler time in the mornings.

Your five-year-old will be enthralled with all there is to see and do.  The Oasis is an area of the park that you will pass through on your way into and out of the park. As you head toward Discovery Island you cannot miss The Tree of Life with its fascinating animal carvings.   From your choice - I would suggest the Maharajah Jungle Trek first, followed by the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail as a second option.  I also think you should consider Kilimanjaro Safaris - an 18-minute safari ride amongst the beautiful landscapes where you could see many of the animals, and every ride is unique.   Other really fun things to do are to go and see Finding Nemo - The Musical, or Festival of the Lion King and don't miss DinoLand U.S.A. - there are so many activities there!  If you still have plenty of energy I am sure you will enjoy boarding a train at the Harambe Train Station to Rafiki's Planet Watch, where you can visit the Affection Section, a petting zoo for youngsters.

Have a wonderful time at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and if you have any other questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
