Hi Chris,
Welcome to planDisney! Your visit to the
Most Magical Place On Earth is just about a month away. How exciting! Now’s the perfect time to kick off the countdown. Whether it’s marking off a calendar, watching your favorite Disney+ classics with the family, or reading up on the latest treats and experiences over on the
Disney Parks Blog, there’s no shortage of ways to build the anticipation.
Let’s chat about your stay at
Disney’s Contemporary Resort and your question about the nearby refurbishment work at
Bay Lake Tower and the Convention Center. If you visit the resort’s official webpage, you’ll see the “Pardon Our Pixie Dust” message noting that construction is underway in both areas. Disney advises allowing for a little extra travel time and gives a heads-up that guests may see or hear construction during their stay.
That said, while those notifications can sound a bit ominous, Disney tends to be overly cautious in setting expectations. From personal experience, and I’ve stayed at quite a few
Disney Resorts Collection hotels during various refurbishments, I can tell you that they go above and beyond to minimize the impact on Guests. I was recently at the Contemporary for some planDisney work and spent time near the Convention Center. Not only did I not notice any noise, but the overall vibe around the pool was just as relaxed and enjoyable as ever.
Between the sound of Disney tunes drifting through the air, kids having the time of their lives, and maybe a Sunset Margarita or Piña CoLAVA in hand, I think you’ll find it easy to unwind and soak up the Florida sun without distraction.
Still, if you’re concerned and want to explore other options, it’s worth reaching out to the
Disney Resorts Hotel Reservations team through the Help Center. If availability allows, they can assist with changing your reservation. Should you decide to explore a different resort, I’d be happy to share some recommendations. The pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of my top picks, perfect for kids and full of tropical fun. I also have friends who rave about the pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (it’s still on my Disney bucket list), and we recently had a fantastic time at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn pool. Plus, the reopening of Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is just around the corner, and that one is tough to beat.
One more tip before I go: don’t forget to take advantage of the current offer of
complimentary water park access on your check-in day. If one splash-tastic day isn’t enough, you can always grab a
1-Day Water Park Ticket to explore both water parks during your stay, since they’ll both be open when you arrive!
I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Chris. If you have more questions or need help deciding between resorts,
I’m just a click away at planDisney.
See you real soon!
