Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stacy!
The Guest Assistance Card has been replaced with the
Disability Access Service (DAS). The DAS works a little differently as it provides a virtual wait time for Guests who are unable to wait in a regular queue. A Guest can request DAS by visiting any theme park Guest Relations. If DAS is assigned, some basic information is collected such as name, party size, length of stay as well as the recipient will have a photo taken. The DAS is electronically associated with all members of the party that have valid theme park ticket media (MagicBands or admission tickets). You will no longer receive a paper card. However, you will be able to view attraction return times in the My Disney Experience mobile app.
The process to obtain a return time is simple. Any member of the party can go to an attraction to request a return time, and Cast Members will scan their media to activate DAS. Return times are based on the stand by wait time, less 10 minutes. You can wait in a quiet area, have a snack or experience another attraction during your virtual wait time. When it's time to experience the attraction, head back to the attraction's entrance making sure that the DAS recipient is the first to touch their media to the Mickey touch point. The Cast Member will then verify the DAS and the recipient's picture before allowing the rest of the party to scan their media to gain admittance to the attraction. After you finish that attraction, you can obtain another return time for a different attraction. Keep in mind that you can only have one active return time at a time.
I hope this brief explanation helps you understand the new system. If you have further DAS questions, please let me know!
Have a magical day!
