I hear there is a military discount for MNSSHP! I was wondering if tickets could be purchased the day of the event or if advanced purchase is necessary to receive the discounted price? Also, what are the can't miss events of the party? We have a 6 yr old.

    Hello Lisa!

Yes, on select nights guests with valid military ID's can receive a discount to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  We try and take advantage of this discount every year.

This year, the discount is available on the following dates:
    September 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28

Tickets cost $37.77 (plus tax) for adults and $36.37 (plus tax) for children (9 and under).  Tickets must be purchased in person at a Walt Disney World ticketing or Guest Relations window.  They do need to be purchased in advance, but you can still buy them the morning of the party.

As for the not-to-be-missed events at the party, well where do I start?  My suggestion is to plan on using the party time for all of the party activities and experience the attractions during regular park hours.  Bring your sweet tooth, too, because you'll be filling your trick-or-treat bags to the brim with yummy candy and treats.  All party guests receive a trick-or-treat bag at the party, but we prefer to bring our own, larger bags.

Make sure you secure your parade spot early so you can get a good view of the Headless Horseman as he charges down the streets of Magic Kingdom Park.  Our favorite parade spot is in Frontierland, right in front of the Frontierland Trading Post.  If your six year old loves music as much as our kids do, you'll want to check out the character dance parties.  They're so much fun!  Of course, Happy HalloWishes fireworks show is a must-see.  They've even added some new elements this year that I can't wait to see for myself.

You're going to have a spooktacular time at MNSSHP!   Please let me know if you have any other questions about the party or the military discounts.  I love helping fellow military families plan their magical vacations.
