I have a health condition, which I can walk, but will have a hard time walking through the whole park. I would prefer to not have to worry about a scooter from the hotel to park. How common is it for WDW to run out of scooters, and how many do they have?

    Hi Debbie!

My mom used to rent scooters all the time when visiting Walt Disney World until she decided to buy her own.  We've been during the busiest of times and have never had an issue with an ECV not being available.  Of course this is not saying that there will always be one available for use.  I did find out that if they are all rented out at the Magic Kingdom, you can put your name on a wait list in case one becomes available during the day in which case they will call you to come pick it up.  There is always a back up of a manual wheelchair if an ECV isn't an option.

You mentioned not wanting to worry about it outside the parks, but it may put your mind at ease if you are more worried about a rental not being available.  All of the Disney World transportation is very accessible, even monorails and ferry boats.

    Have a magical day!
