Hi Jennifer! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Oh, how I love
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside! Between the gorgeous river running through it, the blooming magnolia trees, and Southern charm radiating from the buildings, what is not to love? I bet you will enjoy it, too!
My favorite way to travel around the Walt Disney World Resort is by the
complimentary transportation options: bus, boat, and monorail. To get to Disney's Wilderness Lodge from your
Disney Resort hotel, I would plan to take a
bus to Magic Kingdom Park, then a
water taxi/boat to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. In all, you will want to plan 1 to 1.5 hours travel time, just in case! You don't want to feel stressed about making it in time if there are crowds waiting for the buses and boats. If you happen to be in any of the other theme parks or
Disney Springs before your reservation, you can take a bus directly from those locations to Disney's Wilderness Lodge instead.
Another option is to use a taxi, ride-sharing service, or
Minnie Van Service to travel directly from your Disney Resort hotel to your dining reservation for
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. While there is a small fee involved with this choice, it will save you a lot of time!
Although
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is only a short boat ride away from
Magic Kingdom Park, firework viewing isn't ideal from this location. You may be able to catch some of the fireworks, but the trees in the "wilderness" will obstruct your view. I recommend heading over to one of the resorts on the monorail loop to view the fireworks.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has a really spectacular view!
Enjoy your visit, Jennifer! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
