I am heading to WDW for the 1st time with my two sons, ages 6.5 and 2.5 and will spend 2 days at the parks. My husband can join us only on the 2nd day, so on Day 1 I will be alone with the boys. Which parks should we visit on each day given our situation?

    Hi Katya!

On a couple of occasions I have taken my boys to the Walt Disney World theme parks on my own. I found it pretty reasonable to visit Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. DH has taken the boys to Magic Kingdom and Epcot on his own, too. The parks are easy to enjoy, even with little ones. You'll just want to plan out things such as meal times, to stay similar to their regular schedule. Also, knowing the location of the playground for the park you visit is good info to have on hand, in case you find they kids need to burn off some energy. My boys like to break from the attractions and lines particularly if it's been a busy day by having free roam over a playground right in the park.

You'll probably want to save the "best", Magic Kingdom, for the day you have your whole family together. My pick would be Hollywood Studios, since it offers some of my sons favorite characters and attractions, and offers a good selection of attractions and shows that are easily enjoyed by even the younger ones. My kids even like watching the talented and many times hilarious performers, which is a good way to slow down and make the most of our time during our visit. It's also nice to walk around the different areas without being overwhelmed by the walking distance you might find at Epcot, or even Animal Kingdom. (When DH took our boys, they went for half a day and stayed primarily in Future World.) Hope this helps you to have a fun time with your boys, it's a great way to get some quality time in with them!

     Have a magical vacation!
