Heading to wdw staying solo for a few days and then my mom is joining me.Does she have to check in as well to get her kttk card or can I just get it for her when I check in?

Hi Richyl!  Right now you can get all the tickets and room keys for everyone who will be staying in your room when you check in. However, if your room price will reflect a different nightly quote when the second person arrives it will be best to wait and add her to the room when she arrives. If this does not matter and you are not using anything that is dated that will make a difference then you can get everything taken care of for her which is very easy and nice for her.

I will also add that Disney resorts will soon be switching to a new system that will use bracelets instead of key cards. When this happens this might not be possible and she would have to check in on her own. Unfortunately this is still in testing stages so we are not sure what the new rules will be once this is done property wide in the resorts. You didn't mention you travel dates but this new system is still a few months down the road.
